Welcome to the MD research portfolio of Dr. Gautam Swaroop, Director and Head of Cardiac Sciences at Tender Palm Super Specialty Hospital, Lucknow. Long before his super-specialization, Dr. Swaroop’s deep clinical interest in cardiovascular care was already evident during his postgraduate MD (General Medicine) residency at the prestigious M.L.B. Medical College, Jhansi.
During his MD program, Dr. Gautam Swaroop conducted pivotal clinical research that laid a strong scientific foundation for his future career as an Interventional Cardiologist. His primary MD research project was titled, “Evaluation of Eplerenone: A Selective Aldosterone Blocker in Patients with Left Ventricular Dysfunction after Myocardial Infarction.” This critical study explored the therapeutic efficacy of Eplerenone in managing heart failure following a heart attack. By evaluating how this specific medication improves heart function and outcomes in patients suffering from left ventricular dysfunction, Dr. Gautam Swaroop showcased an early, profound commitment to advancing post-heart attack care.
This foundational academic rigor in general medicine honed his analytical approach to complex systemic diseases. Today, the evidence-based principles established during his MD research continue to guide his comprehensive, patient-centric approach to modern cardiac therapies and complex interventions.
